Build your first FPV drone — step by step

Guided mode for beginners: 9 steps, one part per step, with explanations of each component's role. No assuming you already know what a BEC, ESC or VTX is. By the end you have a complete, validated, buyable drone.

Who guided mode is for

If you've never built an FPV drone, this is for you. We start by asking what you want to do (indoor whoop, 5" freestyle, long range) and filter options accordingly. We don't show you the 1,200 batteries in the catalog — we show you 3 that match your intent.

The 9 steps

(1) Frame — the skeleton. (2) Motors — raw thrust. (3) ESC or Stack — drives the motors. (4) FC — the brain (if not in the stack). (5) VTX + camera — video to goggles. (6) Receiver — receives radio commands. (7) Battery — fuel. (8) Props — propellers. (9) Review and validate. Each step with a "what is this?" and "what should it have?" paragraph.

Inline glossary

Technical terms (KV, mAh, BEC, ESC, UART) have hover popovers with plain definitions. No need to open Wikipedia every time. By the end of the guide you know the FPV basics without watching a 40-min YouTube tutorial.
