Each build starts from a curated template and is resolved against the catalog with parts that have a price in at least one store. The price is the lowest across stores, converted to your currency, and counts four motors and four props. Before it is published, the build goes through the 50+ rules of the compatibility engine.
How much does it cost to build a 5 inch FPV drone?
With prices from 2026-10-29, the builds on this list cost $304 to $346 in parts, without goggles or radio. Today the cheapest is the 5" Race 6S and the most expensive the 5" Freestyle 6S · DJI O4.
Analog or digital for a 5 inch?
Analog is cheap, light and has almost no latency, but the image is worse. Digital (DJI O4, Walksnail, HDZero) is high definition and costs more, goggles included. If you want to film, go digital; if you want to race on a small budget, go analog.
What battery does a 5 inch use?
The usual choice today is 6S, 1100 to 1300 mAh, with an XT60 connector. The compatibility engine checks that the motors' peak current stays within what the connector can take.
