FPVBuilder is a project in active development since 2025. Its thesis: most "online drone builders" you find on Google are static catalogs with hand-copied compatibility tables. We build real rules written in code, open, documented and tested against real-world builds.
The FPV community (r/fpv, Discord, forums) is hostile to "AI-powered" apps because most are slop: ChatGPT spitting generic recommendations without understanding that a 1S whoop motor can't take a 6S battery. FPVBuilder is explicitly anti-slop: rules are hand-written by humans who fly FPV, not LLM-generated. The chatbot exists but only calls validated tools — never recommends made-up IDs.
The 50+ compatibility rules are documented publicly at /en/docs/rules. Each rule includes its technical rationale, covered cases and an example build that triggers warning/error. This is the moat: nobody clones 50+ rules + 5,700 verified products + cross-store matcher in an afternoon.
Affiliates. We earn commission when someone buys a part through an outbound link. You pay the same price as buying direct. Commission does NOT affect which store we recommend — the comparator always shows the lowest real in-stock price. If BetaFPV (10% commission) and AliExpress (5%) have the same product, we show the cheaper one first, not the higher-commission one.
Short: complete missing spec normalizers (BEC current, wire gauge), improve AliExpress matcher, open public API for stores wanting to integrate. Medium: mobile app, export to Betaflight CLI configs, sim integration (Liftoff, Velocidrone). Long: support agent that helps debug builds that don't fly.
